Investing in the agricultural sector represents a strategic pillar of the Social Security Investment Fund's (SSIF) orientations, aligning with national efforts to enhance food security and support green investment in the Kingdom.
In this context, the Fund has established Daman Investment and Agricultural Industries Company — a wholly-owned subsidiary — which manages an agricultural project spanning a total area of approximately 30,000 dunams in the Al-Mudawwara area of Ma'an Governorate. This initiative stands as one of the largest modern agricultural projects in Jordan, managed under an integrated institutional investment model utilizing qualified national expertise.
The project produces several strategic crops, including wheat, potatoes, onions, and other field crops. These products are marketed to central markets, local factories, and regional Arab markets, thereby contributing to the supply of high-specification agricultural produce.
Alongside its economic impact, the project has contributed to creating permanent and seasonal job opportunities, thereby fostering rural development and supporting local communities in the southern governorates.
