Eighth Forum: Corporate Governance Instructions for Banks – December 2023

The eighth forum was organized in collaboration with the Central Bank of Jordan and targeted representatives of the Social Security Corporation serving on boards and management bodies of companies and banks in which the Fund invests.

The sessions addressed the corporate governance instructions for banks issued by the Central Bank and recent amendments thereto, as well as the critical role of bank boards in setting strategic direction, defining policies, and overseeing executive management performance.

The forum also highlighted the importance of integrating environmental and social sustainability considerations into banking operations and enhancing reporting mechanisms to assess compliance with ESG standards and Sustainable Development Goals.
