Shared responsibility to Make a Difference



Accomplishments in 2010

  • SSIF & INJAZ
    Social and environmental responsibility involves everyone. At SSIF, we aim to develop and implement social and environmental policies and practices which fit in our everyday activities and responsibilities, therefore, SSIF signed an agreement with “Injaz for the Creation of Economic Opportunities for Jordanian Youth” on July 2010. This agreement enables SSIF staff to inspire and prepare young Jordanians to become productive members of the society and succeed in a global economy through giving capacity building courses to school and university students all around the kingdom. The number of SSIF volunteers has reached 18.
     
  • SSIF & “Shabakat Al – Ordon"
    To reach its goal in being a partner in sustainable development and empowering less- privileged Jordanians, SSIF has signed a partnership agreement with “Shabakat Al – Ourdoun Fund”. Shabakat is a private NGO that was launched in 2003 under the patronage of HM King Abdullah II as one of the projects of Queen Zain Al- Sharaf Development Center. Shabakat is implementing “Positive Change through Technology” project which is a national project that enables youth to build their capacity through adopting projects that meet the society’s needs and combining different methods of information and communications technologies in daily life of those societies. The role of SSIF in such partnership is to finance SMEs that empower less - privileged people through training & developing the skills of 300 trainees of certain poor areas, SSIF will choose 10 projects to finance out of 20. The cost of the project is JD 35.000.


Accomplishments in 2009

  • CSR Pillars at SSIF
    Under the patronage of HRH Princess Reem Ali, with the significant participation of leaders and HR directors and many interested parties, SSIF participated in the sponsorship of " Corporate Social Responsibility: Culture & Approach" conference in April, 2009. The confrernce aimed at laying the foundation of CSR methodology in Jordan for public and private sectors. It also emphasized the role of corporates in social sustainable development. a number of participants shared their success stories in empowering local society www.csr-exi.joinevents.net

  • Planting the Seeds
    SSIF issued the first specialized CSR Guide in Arabic about CSR: definition, principles and scope of application and it highlights the importance of corporate role in sustainable development.
     
  • Go Green:
    Do it the simple way SSIF published “Environmentally Responsible Offices” guide that defines the framework to reach effective environment friendly offices in cooperation with Jordan Environment association in October 2010. The project aims at reducing the consumption of papers.
     
  • CSR starts home!!
    SSIF signed an agreement with Hussein Cancer Foundation in Oct 2009 to cover the expenses of cancer treatment of SSIF staff in exchange of low subscription fees.
